Have you ever thought that tooth decay comes with age? In fact, your teeth may become more susceptible to cavities as you age. However, did you know that teeth are never immune to tooth decay, regardless of your age? Even young children can suffer from tooth decay. Here are a few simple things you can do to help keep your child’s teeth healthy and strong.

Sadly, infants are actually very susceptible to tooth decay, especially if you give them bottles full of sugary drinks when they go to sleep. You see, if your children’s teeth are exposed to sugary drinks, they’ll be more vulnerable to tooth decay. If your child needs a bottle to sleep, you could give them a bottle full of water.

There are other things you could consider doing to protect your child’s teeth. For instance, you should avoid sharing utensils. This is because bacteria can be transferred from parent to child and accelerate decay. And please remember to brush your child’s teeth, or wipe their gums if their teeth haven’t come in.

You should also remember to set up an appointment with our team when your little one is about a year old. You should also schedule appointments with our team every six months after this first visit. We’ll inspect your child’s smile for any signs of decay and help you try to prevent any issues before they can become too severe.
